NDPI demands delimitation of Assembly seats

JAMMU, Nov 18: The National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) has demanded delimitation of Assembly constituencies in J&K.
In a meeting of working committee NDPI leader, Rajesh Gupta expressed concerns over inequitable delimitation of constituencies by the previous Governments in J&K to favour Kashmir region by gross injustice to Jammu and Ladakh regions.
A resolution passed by NDPI has also demanded de-freezing of 24 seats which have been reserved for PoK. Rajesh Gupta further said that maximum Assembly seats should be allotted to Jammu region which is accommodating the people displaced from PoK since 1947-48.
The NDPI’s working committee has also demanded political reservation for Scheduled Tribes in J&K.
Another demand of NDPI included abolition of the practice of Kashmiri Pandits to fill ‘M Form’ for voting in the Valley.
