NDS organises Dogri Poetic meet

Jammu, June 3: A Dogri Poetic meeting organised by the Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) was held here today. The function was presided over by a prominent literary personality Padamshri Jatinder Udhampuri, Sahitya Academy Awardee and former Director Akashwani. Yog Rahi Gupta, a freelance Journalist was the Chief Guest on the occasion where as Dr. Nasib Singh Manhas, former Director Doordarshan was the special guest.
Capt. Lalit Sharma, Convener NDS in his opening and welcome remarks said that poets and writers show mirror to the society and progressive societies get benefitted out of their analytical writings.
Padamshri Jatinder Udhampuri described the Dogri Kavi Goshthi a successful and memorable event and complimented NDS for a quality poetic event.
Yog Rahi in his remarks described the poetry recited as a literary treat which he too relished presented in various flavours .He further observed that poetry presented had the fragrance of duggar, resonance of the hymns of our flowing rivers , dignity of our mountains, pride of duggar and also the valour and spirit of dogras .
Dr. Nasib Singh Manhas said that dogras have rich culture and literature and the new generation has reasons to be proud of their cultural heritage and history.
Harish Kaila reiterated the commitment of NDS to work for dogri language and Duggar Culture.
The poets who participated include Brij Mohan , Yash Pal Yash , Kusum Sharma “Antra” , Dr Sushil Bhola , Randhir Singh Raipuria, T.R. Mangotra , Sunita Bhadwal, Narinder Singh Chib, Madan Dogra , Sheikh Fiaz Ahmad , Bishan Singh Dardi, Child Poet Hirday Vashishth and Nirmal Nirmohi.
Among other who graced the meet included BS Jamwal, Darmesh Nargotra , Pt. B.M Dubey , T.R Tagotra , Anita Chopra, S. P. Chopra, Sanjay Kapil, Subash Sharma, Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Capt. Lalit Sharma, Dogra Harish Kaila, President NDS and Prof. Anupama Sharma.
