NDS organizes ‘e-Lok Sangeet’ programme

JAMMU, Sept 20: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) organized a multilingual ‘e-Lok Sangeet’ programme based on folk songs in Dogri, Punjabi, Bhaderwahi and Kashmiri languages.
Prof Anupama Sharma, renowned Singer and Patron of NDS Youth Wing presided over the function.
The programme was conducted by Yash Pal Yash, General Secretary NDS.
Advocate Harish Kaila, President NDS coordinated and supervised the programme.
The folk songs were posted by the participants in the form of videos and audios on the WhatsApp group of NDS.
Other group members also offered their views on the folk songs presented.
Prof Anupama Sharma in her address said, “Our rich folk is our proud heritage and reflects our past social, geographical, historical, anthropological and environmental values and way of life.”
Lalit Sharma in his concluding remarks said, “Such programmes are a big solace and moral boosters for the artists and participants in the prevailing pandemic laden atmosphere and connect us with our glorious traditions and life style.”
Those who participated in ‘e-Lok Sangeet’ programme were Ramalo Ram & Party, Rajni Malhotra, Savita Khajuria, Rajesh Verma, Uttam Singh, Gulzar Ahmed Bhat & Party (Ruff), Rita Dubey, Amarjeet Kour ‘Neer’, International Dogra Society London, Shallu Uppal Nargotra, Nidhi Kaila Choudhary, Ram Paul Dogra and Sunaina Kaila.
