NDS organizes ‘Patriotic Group Song Competition’

JAMMU, Sept 3: Nami Dogri Sanstha organized a `Patriotic Group Song Competition’, in which Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, was the chief guest.
Sandeep Gupta, Advocate, J&K High Court, Jammu was the guest of honour.  D  C Raina, former Advocate General, J&K and Brig O P Abrol (Retd) presided over the function. Advocate Nidhi Kaila and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila also shared the dais.
Schools, which participated in the competition, included Anuradha Hr Sec School – Barnai, Aglo Kids School – Janipur, Spring Dale Higher Secondary School, Sarvodya Public School – Santra Mode Anand Nagar Jammu, S N S. Vidya Mandir – Talab Tillo Jammu. Prof Romila Gularia, HoD Music, Prof Anupama Sharma and Dr Ashutosh Magotra were the judges of the competition.
The group of students from each school presented their songs and Sarvodya Public School got the first prize while second and third prizes were clinched by Spring Dale Higher Secondary School and Anuradha Hr Sec School, respectively.
Kavinder Gupta said that our youth can do wonders if their energies are channelised in right direction and it is our earnest duty to watch their interests and groom them properly as they are our future. “Imbibing the moral and patriotic values in our youth will not only make them selfless citizens but they will always keep the interest of the society and the country as supreme,” he added.
Brig. O P Abrol emphasized upon imbibing patriotism among the youth and new generations so that they become responsible citizens and take pride in our rich heritage and nationalist values.
D  C Raina said that teacher has key role in shapening an artist.  Capt Lalit Sharma said that music is powerful medium in creating patriotic outlook. Sandeep Gupta said that patriotism is a devotion and these types of competitions should be organized in future also.  Advocate Nidhi Kaila also spoke on the occasion.
Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila said that one should not forget his mother tongue Dogri. “You may eat any junk food but don’t leave eating Dogri recipes,” he added.
