JAMMU, Oct 23: `Ehsaas Ke Pal’ a Hindi poetry book penned by Kalpana Gupta “Rattan” was released by Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) at Press Club Jammu, here today.
Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Prof R D Sharma, former Vice Chancellor Jammu University and NOIDA University, presided over the function.
Sunil Khajuria, Advocate Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, KK Shakir, veteran educationist and famous writer and Raj Rishi Sharma well known motivational writer were guests of honour. Yash Pal Yash, General Secretary NDS conducted the proceedings in his unique style and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President NDS, co-shared the dais. Kuldip Dogra, known Dogri writer, read a detail paper on the book critically evaluating the creative work.
On the occasion, Kalpana Gupta “Rattan” was conferred with “Sahitya Shree” Award by NDS by way of a certificate, Shawl and memento.
Capt Lalit Sharma, Convener NDS, in his opening address, said that progressive women representing various fields also have a big role to empower the fellow women folk and Kalpana Gupta Rattan has proved that as an icon. He appreciated creative work of the writer to express her feelings related to his life struggle and the current issues confronting the society.
Kavinder Gupta said that works of a poet and writer persist for ever motivating and enriching the people for generations. He said literature, art and culture imbibe moral values, tolerance, awareness and discipline in the society.
Prof R D Sharma, in his presidential address, observed that for a prosperous society, the women empowerment is must as fifty percent of our population comprises the females. He complemented the author for her creative work despite shouldering the responsibilities of a Principal of an institution and looking after domestic affairs as well. He said feats of women in various fields play a big role in women empowerment besides endeavours of the Government in this direction.
Sushil Bhola, executive member NDS and famous Dogri and Hindi writer, extended the vote of thanks.
