NEW DELHI, Nov 24 : Addressing a function organized to distribute awards and certificates among the employees and officers of Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), who had excelled in various competitive events organized as a part of the Hindi fortnight, here today, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region, MoS in PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Space and Atomic Energy, Dr Jitendra Singh said that issues related to North East were high on the priority of the present Government and assured that, rising above all the mutual conflicts of interest, he would assure that each of the eight North Eastern States gets its due share.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, it was the BJP led Government under Prime Minister Vajpayee, which had created an exclusive Ministry for North Eastern region and the present Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to carry forward the task of promoting development in North East by expediting ongoing projects and introducing new projects.
He said that instructions had been issued for speedy utilization of funds allocated to North East region and said, his endeavour will be to bring about speedy development along with closer psychological affinity between the North-East region and the rest of the country.
Dr Singh said, he was delighted to note that many of the employees in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, who had won the prizes today themselves hail from the North East and had achieved such proficiency in Hindi language that they were in a position to excel even those of their colleagues whose mother tongue was Hindi.
