Nearly 19,000 youth attend army recruitment rally

Srinagar, Apr 4: Nearly 19,000 youth today turned up for an army recruitment rally from all districts of Valley at Hyderbeigh area of Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A defence spokesman said the rally covering districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Srinagar, Bandipora, Shopian, Budgam, Pulwama, Kupwara, Baramulla and Ganderbal districts. “A total of 18,931 candidates are likely to be screened for their physical fitness, medical examination and documentation from today until April 12. Entrance Exam will be held on May 28, 2017 for successful candidates,” he added.
The spokesman said that the huge turnout for recruitment reflects the level of motivation and patriotism amongst the youth of Kashmir region. Deputy Director General Recruiting (Punjab and J&K), Brig JS Samyal while briefing media persons at the rally site informed that there would be more similar rallies to give greater opportunity to all aspirants of J&K state. “The Rally is a step by the Army to ameliorate the condition of unemployed youth of the Kashmir region,” he added.
