While speaking, the protestors said that to add to their worries, many of them are not uploaded in the NIC portal to main their computer records.
“The Department is not using proper and same yardstick to redress our grievances as a result of which some of our colleagues despite serving in the department since 2000 are not kept on record (NIC portal) whereas various junior colleagues have been entered in the computer record, which is sheer injustice with us”, Sher Singh, president of the Union said.
He said that some of their colleagues have become handicapped while serving in the department due to unfortunate incidents of short circuits and electrocution, but they have not been granted any compensation. Many of unfortunate colleagues have lost their lives while performing their duties but the department has not paid any compensation to their respective families, he stated.
“Out of total need based employees, 2707 have been uploaded in computer record whereas the remaining have not been uploaded. More than 408 employees are in the manual records of this department and need to be considered in the NIC portal”, he added.
He said that the wages of about 969 Need Based employees are pending from the past many years. Under such circumstances, it is not possible for them to meet the expenses of bringing up and maintaining our families and bear the expenses of studies of our children, he added.
The protestors demanded uploading of the remaining employees in the NIC portal and release of all the pending wages.
