JAMMU, Jan 21: A delegation of Need Based Workers Association of PDD Ganderbal led by its president Nazir Ahmed Sheikh and vice president Bilal Ahmed Kak called on Development Commissioner, Power and discussed their problems with him.
The delegation expressed serious concern over the non payment of dues to the need based workers of PDD for last four years and said that their families are at the verge of starvation due to the callousness of the authorities.
They also demanded the regularization of the need based employees and said those who get electrocuted while working on restoration of power supply are denied any assistance by the Government. The delegation informed him that recently one worker died in Pattan while another in Ganderbal while working on restoration of power supply and their families are running from pillar to post for justice.
The DC Power assured the delegation that immediate steps will be taken for release of wages.
The Association has also made an appeal to Governor N N Vohra, urging him to look into the problem and ensure justice to need based workers of PDD.
