Need for constitution of 7th Pay Commission: NMC

JAMMU, Mar 17: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today asked the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to start the process for constitution of 7th Pay Commission and hold discussion with the representatives of both Central and State Government employees in this regard.
“Setting up of the 7th Pay Commission has become due in view of DA having gone much beyond 50 per cent of basic salary and pension, as such there should be no delay in making a decision in this matter,” president NMC, Subash Shastri, told reporters here.
Shastri also demanded that merger of the 50 per cent DA in to the basic pay and pension.
“50 per cent of the DA should be forth with merged into basic pay and pension,” he said, adding, the 20 per cent interim relief and due DA instalment, with effect from January 2013, should be sanctioned as early as possible.
The NMC head also asked for regularisation of daily wagers of the State engaged after March 1994.
“There should be time bound implementation of policy for regularisation of daily wagers who have completed seven years of service in March 2012,” Shastri said.
“The wages of the daily wagers should also be raised to Rs 10,000 per month,” he added.
