RAMBAN, Mar 13: Two day employment fair organized by the Department of Employment and Counselling was inaugurated by MLA (elect) Ramban Neelam Langeh at Ramlila ground here.
The employment fair was organised for attracting the unemployed youth of the district towards various activities which have income generating potential. ADC Ramban, ACD, CMO, AD Fisheries and all other district officers were present on the occasion.
The employment fair started with colour full cultural programmes organised by DIC Ramban. Two items presented by the artists included a local folk dance event called “Thali Dance” which mesmerised the audience present in the employment fair and the other was a folk music programme.
Various departments which have been covered under employment generating schemes by the Government had established their stalls on the venue. The representatives of the different departments like Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Agriculture, Sericulture, J&K Bank, Army, Handicrafts, Handlooms and Social Welfare interacted with the youth and informed them about the schemes and the benefits thereof.
Mr Langeh asked the departments concerned to focus on public regarding awareness viz-a-viz Government schemes so that the benefit can reach to the deserved. He exhorted upon the Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Sericulture and other line departments to hold such awareness camps in future also for improving the per capita income of the district.
