Negative politics pushing J&K towards another division: Ex-MLC

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 29: Former MLC from BJP, Girdhari Lal Raina has said that continuous divisive and negative politics on issues of human rights of deprived sections of Jammu and Kashmir by sectarian regional political parties of UT is not only in bad taste but is also bound to push the erstwhile state towards further division.
In a press statement issued here today, Ex-MLC said that opposing grant of domicile to Valmikis, Gorkhas and West Pak Refugees, is just because of their religion needs to be condemned and denounced by all saner elements. More depreciable is the attempt to disturb peace in the UT by pushing a fake narrative of so called demographic change to provoke common people. It is the divisive politics that created impediments in the progress and development of Jammu and Kashmir. This sectarian politics by these political opportunists is to cover their misdeeds, nepotism and corrupt practices practised during last seven decades.
Raina said countrymen are well aware that suppressing truth and propagating a fake narrative was and continues to be essential component of strategy employed by these dynastic politicians and parties. In 1931, they concealed death and destruction forced upon minorities under the garb of opposing autocracy in 1947 sufferings, killings and displacement of was supplanted by a fake narrative of ‘Ray-of-Hope’ comment of Gandhi Ji. In 1989-90, the story was repeated with Jagmohan conspiracy. Inconvenient truth and questions exposing fake narrative was dismissed and stifled by noise in unison of the left-Liberal echo-system supported and sponsored by forces inimical to Indian interests.
“Misinformation is being produced by manufacturing fabricated stories, propagating half-truths as ground reports and deceitful propaganda as people’s perception. Corruption and inefficiency of people who ruled Jammu and Kashmir for decades is pushed under the carpet. The new Domicile Law put into place after abrogation of Article 35A and subsequent reorganisation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir has put an end to the politico-legal mechanism that promoted corruption, inefficiency and opacity,” BJP leader added.
He said the very definition of domicile in the new law and rules is inclusive, enabling, empowering, non-discriminative and harmonising.  It puts an end to the decades of discrimination, persecution and harassment of a large section of population in J&K. Raina appealed the conscious people of J&K not to get mislead and instead continue to march towards peace, progress and development.
