Neha tops J&K CC Exams

JAMMU, July 23: Neha Sharma of Jammu has topped Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examinations 2012, whose results were declared today by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
A total of 65 candidates were selected from out of a total of 14,403 candidates, who appeared in Preliminary Examinations and 1203 in Main Examination. A total of 224 candidates appeared for the interview.
A handout said 65 candidates have been selected for Junior KAS, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Accounts Services posts.
Of 65 selected candidates, only 14 were females.
The handout said this if the fourth consecutive year since 2009 when the PSC has conducted the State Civil Services Exams on yearly basis successfully.
Neha Sharma, a BDS from Indira Gandhi Government Dental College, Jammu topped the exam in her first attempt. She is daughter of Surinder Sharma of Channi Himmat, a former official of Information Department.
First 10 toppers included Neha Sharma, Nissar Rasool, Nasir Ahmed Butt, Pulkit Dutta, Shokath Ahmad Shoketh, Tahir Mohi-ud-Din Wani, Akshi Gupta, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, Mohammad Hussain Mir and Azeeta Seher Qureshi.
