JAMMU, Sept 17: Satish Nehru, Secretary to Government, Housing and Urban Development Department reviewed the functioning of the Jammu Municipal Corporation, in a meeting held here today.
JMC Commissioner, Kiran Wattal, in detail informed the Secretary about the overall working of the Corporation and the performance clocked by the different sections.
It was informed to Nehru that focus is being made in providing sanitation facilities to the citizens of Jammu city and a drive shall be started soon especially in areas lacking civic infrastructure.
The Secretary directed JMC Commissioner to launch vigorous campaign for checking adulteration in food items in view of forthcoming festive season, menace of stray animals and illegal encroachments.
Nehru also reviewed in detail the work program of the Engineering Section and stressed that quality and the technical parameters must be observed in undertaking construction, so that, good infrastructure is made available.
Among others present in the meeting were Vice-Chairman, Jammu Development Authority, Director, Urban Local Bodies, Joint Commissioner (A), JMC, Secretary, JMC, Joint Commissioner (W), Chief Accounts Officer etc.
