JAMMU, June 27: Secretary to Housing & Urban Development Department, Satesh Nehru along with Director ULBs, Jammu K.L.Khajuria visited Municipal Committees Bishnah, Arnia & Ramgarh to inspect schemes being implemented under IHSDP.
During the visit various deputations met the Secretary and put forth their demands for further improvement of civic amenities, sanitation etc in these Municipal Committees.
At Bishnah, Nehru inspected the record of building permission case and directed the concerned for rationalization of staff particularly Work Supervisor and Khilafwarzi Inspectors and also directed to auction the shops as early as possible to generate the income of the Committee besides direction was passed to Engineering wing for estimation of dilapidated building of MC. The Secretary directed the Executive Engineer Town Drainage Division, Jammu to prepare separate DPR for drainage and sewerage system in the town.
At Municipal Committee Arnia, the Secretary inquired about the staff and took stock of the problems of local residents and assured for early redressal like improvement of drain/lane and for early identification of Solid Waste Management land in association with the local resident. He directed Executive Officer to identify at least 10-15 kanals of land for Solid Waste Management Project.
The Secretary carried out inspection of lane and dwelling units covered under IHSDP Scheme at MC Arnia and directed Executive Officer to release last installment to the beneficiaries for early completion of their units. He directed the Executive Officer for construction of shops under self finance scheme, passenger shed & toilet block at bus stand Arnia and repair of chain link fencing where ever required, installation of Board depicting Municipal Park and installation of steel benches for convenience of the inhabitants.
At Ramgarh, he directed Executive Officer Ramgarh for fencing of land so identified for Solid Waste Management Project and construction of shed at Shamshan Ghat. He also inspected Community Hall where he gave directions to Engineering wing to ensure proper landscaping and plantation of ornamental plants besides preparation of site plan for construction of Office Block adjoining main entrance.
The Secretary H&UDD directed all the Executive Officers of MC Bishnah, Arnia and Ramgarh to start sanitation weak drive from 28th of June, 2014 and also stressed for desilting of nallahs.
The team of officers of the Department who accompanied the Secretary included Deputy Director, Vinod Behnal and Executive Engineer Town Drainage Division Jammu besides other staff of the Department.
