Nepali journalists’ delegation visits Chamber House

JAMMU, Aug 13: A 16-member delegation of Federation of Nepal Journalists today visited office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu where they were received by the CCI office bearers led by Chamber president Arun Gupta, besides the members of All J&K Gorkha Sabha, Scheduled Caste community, Valmiki Samaj and PoK refugees.
The programme began with the welcome address presented by the Secretary General of CCI, Gaurav Gupta. CCI Jammu president, in his address, said that Nepal and India have a long history of cordial relations. He added that there is a substantial population of Nepal origin especially the Gorkha community people who have contributed a lot in different sectors of this Union Territory but it needs to be acknowledged that the mutual cooperation has not received the desired fillip or encouragement to the expected level.
Gupta urged the visiting journalists to present in Nepal the real scenario that provides hope to aspiring people of Nepal as well as those in J&K to work in synchronizing their efforts towards productive cooperation in the interest of people of Nepal and Jammu and Kashmir.
Later a meeting was held between the Chamber members and the members of Federation of Nepal Journalists besides the members of All J&K Gorkha Sabha, Scheduled Caste community, Valmiki Samaj and PoK refugees.
The programme concluded with honouring of members of Federation of Nepal Journalists, All J&K Gorkha Sabha, Scheduled Caste community, Valmiki Samaj and PoK refugees by CCI Jammu president and his team.
The vote of thanks was presented by the CCI senior vice president, Anil Gupta. Among others who were present include Rajeev Gupta (junior vice-president), Rajesh Gupta (secretary), Rajesh Gupta (treasurer) and Rajesh Gupta (working president, VHP).
