This is to bring in the notice of the higher powers of the State Government that selections for various posts in district Kargil are made on nepotism and favouritism, having least regard for merit. The selections for VLW posts were also made on the same criteria.
This process is going on and on in Kargil and needs to be stopped. Students having higher qualification and belonging to poor section are the ones extremely affected by this malaise. One who deserves the post does not usually get it, but is grabbed by bureaucrats and politicians. This phenomenon gets a dirty turn year by year and nobody raises voice against it. The matter was raised with local media, Deputy Chief Minister, and other civil society members, but no one bothers to look into it. If this malaise is not stopped right now, it will have deep repurcussions on society, and the future of highly qualified people. Will concerned people wake up to this reality.
