Nepotism ruling roost in CU Jammu: NSF

JAMMU, June 15: Alleging that the administration of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) did not call the deserving candidates for interview who had applied for the post of Assistant Professors, National Secular Forum urged the Governor, N N Vohra to order a high-level inquiry into the case. Addressing media person here today, NSF president Dr Vikas Sharma said that Central University of Jammu had invited application for the posts of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in Economics, Environment Science, Mathematics, MBA, National Security and studies, English and other streams. “Around 190 candidates had applied for a post but only 25-30 were invited for the interviews which are schedule to be held on June 16-17,” he said adding that many highly qualified candidates with teaching experience, PHd, NET, SLET have been ignored and not invited for interviews. “As per the advertisement, requisite qualification criteria for the post were simply MBA with 60 percent marks whereas the short listing has been done on the basis of Specialization in the MBA. The actual fact behind the fraud as that the authorities want to short list a particular candidate who is daughter of a top officers in CUJ,” Mr Vikas alleged. He also alleged that candidates were seeking time from VC of CUJ to project their grievances but all in vain as for the last two-three days, VC was not meeting them due to some unknown reason. The NSF leader alleged that CUJ has becomes rehabilitate centre for nears and dears of some officials while the deserving candidates were being ignored without any reason. He threatened to launch an agitation if the CUJ administration does not mend its way. Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Sukhdev Singh, Sunil Kumar, Barket Tahir, Qayoom Malik, and Vikram Madhyal.
