Net services suspended in Jammu

JAMMU, July 9: The divisional administration this afternoon ordered suspension of mobile internet services in entire Jammu region as a precautionary measures following unrest in the Kashmir valley in the wake of killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.
IGP Jammu Zone, Danish Rana told the Excelsior that only mobile internet services have been suspended while broadband services were functional.
He said a fresh review of the situation will be taken tomorrow morning before deciding on whether to go ahead with ban on mobile internet services or lift it.
However, Rana said, there has been no untoward incident in entire Jammu region and the situation was completely peaceful.
Official sources said the divisional administration this afternoon wrote to all telecom service providers to suspend mobile internet services. Accordingly, the internet services were suspended at about 5 pm, they said.
