JHAJJARKOTLI, Feb 25: Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana on Tuesday said that new administrative units will give new impetus to development and ease the administrative problems of people living in far-flung areas.
Addressing a party rally at Jhajjarkotli near Nagrota this afternoon, Mr Rana said that carving out of new community development blocks, in particular, will revolutionise the rural landscape with fund flow increasing manifold. “Almost every area has been covered under historic initiative and those nurturing the grouse of neglect will get an opportunity to put forth their case before the new panel which is being constituted soon and to submit report in stipulated time frame”, he added.
The Provincial President said that creation of new administrative units was not an easy proposition given the canards spread by vested interests. “However, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah demonstrated high degree of grit and determination to have these in place without further delay, as these were in the best interests of the people of all the three regions and their sub regions”, he said.
Mr Rana said this is a major initiative in the past six and half decades, which is aimed at giving much needed respite to people living in ‘not so advantageous areas’. He spelled out the broad contours of the initiative and said placement of Patwari in each Panchayat Halqa will immensely benefit the rural population.
The Provincial President cautioned the people against communal and disruptive forces who, he said, will come before them in different jargon with their nefarious agenda.
“These are the elements who find religion in danger only when elections come nearer”, he said, adding that this is the only tool they want to hammer to push forward their political agenda. He urged the people to foil these elements with similar force which they have applied in the past.
Those present on the occasion included Rameshwar Dutt, Som Nath Khajuria, Rajinder Kumar Pithi, Subash Singh, Angrez Singh, Mohammad Sadiq, Bishan Singh, Sudarshan Sharma, Noor Jahan, Haji Alam Din, Soni and others.
