JAMMU, Sept 12: The State body of International Gujjar and Bakkerwal Mahasabha (IGBM) was announced today by Gujjar-Bakkewals leaders.
Addressing a press conference here today, the newly elected president of IGBM J&K and Ladakh, Choudhary Mohd Aslam Kohli said that the previous State Body of the Mahasabha was dissolved during its meeting held recently in Srinagar under the chairmanship of National president, Colonel Dev Anand Gurjar wherein on spot elections were conducted and a new body was constituted unanimously for smooth conduct of the Organization.
Kohli said besides him, other newly appointed body members are Choudhary Mohd Younus (National vice president), Choudhary Mohd Anwar Clother (vice-president, J&K and Ladakh), Choudhary Shamima Gurjar (president, women wing, J&K and Ladakh), Parwaz Chouhan (vice president, women wing, J&K and Ladakh), Choudhary Nazir Ahmad Gurjar Pode (youth president, J&K and Ladakh), Choudhary Abdul Majeed Bajar (general secretary, J&K and Ladakh), Choudhary Saif Ud Din Famda (president, Kashmir province) and Haji Nisar Hussain (president, Jammu province).
Newly elected body also included Khursheed Hussain Mukri (youth president, Jammu province), Junaid Ahmed (youth vice president, J&K and Ladakh), Choudhary Imtiyaz Kataria (spokesperson, J&K and Ladakh), Choudhary Nazir Akbar (general secretary, Jammu province), Choudhary Ikhlaq Kalas (youth president, Kashmir province) and Choudhary Abdul Majid Kohli (chief organizer, J&K and Ladakh).
The newly elected IGBM J&K and Ladakh president said that he will work sincerely and dedicatedly for the welfare of the Gujjar-Bakkerwal community and do his best to purse major issues of the community including proper survey of population of Gujjar and Bakkerwal communities, providing permanent habitations to these nomadic communities, pre and post matric scholarships to students from both the communities, providing reservation to community members in Panchayat elections, etc.
