Srinagar, June 26: Assuring to enhance patient care while prioritizing administrative efficiency and transparency, renowned endocrinologist Dr. Ashraf Ganie today assumed the charge of Director SKIMS, Soura, receiving a rousing welcome from the employees and doctors of the institution.
Dr. Ganie’s appointment comes nearly six months after applications were invited in December last year for the post, just a few months before the retirement of Dr. Pervaiz Kaul.
Around 30 senior doctors, both from within and outside the institute, applied for the position after the Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department invited applications last year.
The Selection Committee, examined the candidates’ bio-data and other records, selected Dr. Ganie for the post.
In his maiden address to the SKIMS community as Director, Dr. Ganie extended heartfelt gratitude to the Governing Body and all those involved in the selection process for their trust and confidence in him.
He articulated his commitment to elevating the institution to new heights of excellence in patient care, research, and academic standards. Emphasizing the importance of accessibility and public relations, he outlined his vision to position SKIMS competitively on the global healthcare stage.
Director said: “As I assume the charge of Director at SKIMS, I stand committed to fostering a future where SKIMS emerges as a global leader in healthcare excellence. My vision is rooted in enhancing patient care, advancing research frontiers, and elevating academic standards… we will prioritize administrative efficiency and transparency.”
Dr. Ganie is a noted endocrinologist and has been working as a Professor of Endocrinology & Metabolism and Sub-Dean of Research at SKIMS, Soura.
