New facilities introduced in GMC Rajouri: Principal

Jammu, July 2: In order to improve the health care delivery system at Government Medical College Rajouri, a meeting was chaired by Principal GMC Rajouri professor (Dr ) A S Bhatia.
He was accompanied by Medical Superintendent Dr Mahmood Hussain Bajar along with other faculty members.
While talking to media persons of district Rajouri, Dr Bhatia briefed the society about the recent advancements and developments made in the hospital on the instructions of Secretary Health and Medical Education Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah. The latest developments include installation of fibroscan for screening patient suffering from liver disease and cirhosis and installation of two digital radio graphic machines in the hospital bringing the radio diagnosis department at par with the national level.
Further it was disclosed that the newly constructed 180 bedded new block is now ready and has been taken over from the executing agencies and very soon all the floors of the new block will be made functional.
He further said that for the Medical College and teaching purpose they have tied up with a social organisation Dera Saccha Sauda at Sirsa Haryana who have been very kindly to provide three cadavers for the Anatomy Department for research purpose for the medical students.
The Principal had two hour long marathon meeting with the BSc nursing students and listened to their grievances and most of the grievances has been taken care of and the request of the students to shift them to their own building was discussed with the executive agency and it was decided that in the next one week that BSc nursing college will be shifted to its own building along with all laboratories which will include fundamental nursing lab, Obs and pediatrics lab anatomy and physiology lab, nutrition labs and computer lab.
