New mail van service from Jammu to Samba launched

JAMMU, Oct 15: In order to provide faster and efficient transmission of mail between Jammu and Samba, Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle, John Samuel, today launched the new van service as part of Postal Week celebrations.
The Mail Van was flagged off by the Chief Postmaster from Jammu to Samba in the presence of a large gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, Samuel said that the mail van would cater to all the Post Offices falling enroute Jammu to Samba viz Bari Brahamana, Tarore, Jakh, Vijaypur, Nanak Chak and Samba. He expressed confidence that with the van service, the mail services for Samba will improve considerably. He further said that as per the mail standards, mail would be delivered in two days within the State.
Samuel also announced that the Department is considering the upgradation of Samba Post Office into a Head Post Office.
