JAMMU, July 11: New office bearers for the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu were unanimously elected under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Jammu, here today.
Official sources said that majority (six) of the members having affiliation with the TS Wazir Group, moved to the office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, who is also officer nominated by Government to elect office bearers DGPC Jammu and forwarded their claim to frame new body.
Out of the 11 elected members from Jammu, six members put forward their claim for the new body. Jagjit Singh from R S Pura segment was unanimously elected as president for DGPC Jammu, Kuldeep Singh from Kirpind  vice president, Harjeet Singh Raina from Digiana as secretary, Mohinder Singh from  Akhnoor as joint secretary while Manmohan Singh from Nanak Nagar as treasurer of the DGPC, Jammu.
Sources said that District Committees for all the other districts will be framed within 2-3 days and there after elections for the State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board will be held. From Jammu eight members will be elected while from Kashmir region only seven members. The total 15 members elected from the State would elect the new chairman of the SGPB and this process will take maxim 15 days.
At present T S Wazir is the chairman  of the SGPB and this time again, his group is said to be taking lead in majority of the districts while the rival  group has the support of  Mahant Manjit Singh ji of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch. In Poonch and Baramulla, Mahant group is said to be taking lead.
