JAMMU, Feb 27: Two new training courses have been launched at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) in Udhampur to help improve the skills of police officers in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per a statement, the first course, lasting two days, focuses on “Ethics and Soft Skills” and is being attended by 20 officers. The program covers topics like professional integrity, communication skills and making ethical decisions.
The second course, which is three days long, is focused on “Gender Sensitization and Forensic Training.” It has 20 participants from different districts and covers gender awareness and forensic investigation techniques.
Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Deputy Director, SKPA, officially launched the courses.
In his speech, he emphasized the importance of ethics, communication, gender sensitivity, and forensic skills in modern policing.
He encouraged the participants to actively take part in the training and apply what they learn to improve their work. He also thanked the trainers for their efforts in preparing the courses.
The courses include interactive sessions, case studies, and hands-on exercises to help the officers develop practical skills in these areas.
The statement said that the training for “Gender Sensitization and Forensic Training” is supported by the National Commission for Women (NCW) from New Delhi.
