New trains

Sir,
The Railway budget has brought both good and bad news for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The budget presented by the Railway Minister  Malikarjuna Kharge has proposed five new trains for Jammu and Katra.
These trains will not only provide connectivity of the State with the rest of the country but will also give a boost to pilgrimage and tourism sector. This in turn will create more job opportunities for people in this part of the country.
The bad news is that people had expected that a Rail coach factory would be set up in the State. Like last year, this year too the hopes got dashed to the ground. There is tremendous scope for setting up of a Rail coach factory in Jammu. The scope has further widened with extension of Railway line to the Kashmir valley.
Besides, the Poonch Railway Project too seems to have been buried by the Railway Ministry for ever. The people of Poonch had pinned their hopes on the budget, but now they have to come to terms with the reality.
Yours etc…
