Newly appointed Asstt Profs discuss problems with CTA

JAMMU, Dec 30: Newly appointed Assistant professors in Jammu division colleges today met with members of College Teachers’ Association (CTA) and discussed their problems.
The newly appointed Assistant Professors raised various issues regarding withdrawal of advanced increment for M Phil and PhD, as has been proposed by MHRD in 7th CPC recommendations, release of salary in case of some newly appointed Assistant Professors, providing research facilities and infrastructure in the colleges, residential facilities for college teachers working in far flung colleges and pay protection of in service candidates.
The president of the Association, Prof DS Manhas, assured the new appointees that the matter of advance increment will be taken up with the UGC directly and also through AIFUCTO. He said that the issue of release of salary has already been taken up with the higher authorities while all other issues will also be taken up.
Manhas appraised the new appointees about the role of the Association and stated that the Association raises the issues concerning the college fraternity with the higher education Department as well as with the University authorities and makes efforts in resolving those issues.
