REASI, Oct 31: A newly married housewife committed suicide by hanging herself at the house of her in-laws at Lower Panasa in Arnas area of Reasi district.
The deceased was identified as Jyoti Devi (21), wife of Pawan Kumar of Lower Panasa. She was found hanging from ceiling fan hook in her room, this morning. On being spotted, she was rushed to hospital but doctors declared her as brought dead.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
The deceased was married only five months back.
