Newly promoted migrant teachers’ plea to DyCM

JAMMU, July 21: An emergency meeting of newly promoted teachers as masters was held under the aegis of Joint Migrant Education Employees Association here today, in which the burning issues of displaced teachers were discussed.
The meeting, which was chaired by Bharat Bushan Kaul made an appeal to Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand who holds the portfolio of Education Department to personally look into the problems of the migrant promotee teachers at an earliest.
The meeting said that Kashmiri Pandits are living in exile for last 23 years and any further dislocation to them will put the community to further problems and scatter the families once again.
The meeting said by posting the migrant teachers back in Valley after their promotions will deprive their school going children and old aged and ailing parents of their care which is most essential for them at this critical juncture of their life.
The meeting demanded posting of migrant teachers in camp schools where a large number of children of the displaced people are reading. It said already camp schools are facing shortage of teachers in some streams and with the posting of these teachers in Valley the problem will aggravate further.
