JAMMU, July 2: Non- Gazetted Employees Welfare Association (NGEWA) of J&K UT called on the new Director, Geology & Mining, PS Rathore and projected the pending issues and demands of the employees.
Led by both the presidents from Kashmir Region, Rehmatullah Khan and Bharat Bhushan Sharma from Jammu Division, the employees including majority of them from G&M Department discussed their long pending issues during a meeting today. They projected the issue of DPC which was not held since long. With this, they said, many employees are facing stagnation. They pleaded that much awaited DPC of all the cadres be conducted without any more delay.
Both the presidents further demanded that old and outdated recruitment rules in the G&M Departments be modified/amended. They said the employees of the department are demanding modification of these rules for the last over three decades, but the officers at the helm of affairs have turned deaf ear towards this long pending demand of the G&M employees.
They also demanded appointment of an Accounts Officer in Srinagar office of G&M, procurement of latest/ modern machinery and their spare parts, camp equipment, color coded uniforms for Chowkidars and mineral guards. They referred to the severe shortage of staff in various wings and also sought appointment of Superintendents in the G&M workshops at Srinagar and Jammu. The officers of the G&M Department, deployed in other wings be brought back for smooth and effective functioning of the department, they added.
Both of them assured full support and cooperation of the Association to the newly appointed Director, P S Rathore and urged the Chief Secretary and the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to ensure full tenure of Rathore who has taken very good steps for the smooth and effective functioning of this department.
Rathore listened the issues of the employees very patiently and assured that all the issues are genuine and will be addressed shortly on priority basis.
