NGPPWF stages protest, raises demands

JAMMU, Jan 5: Non Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum (NGPPWF) here today staged a protest demonstration and claimed discrimination with J&K retired police pensioners and personnel of J&K Fire Services in pay anomaly.
The protest was led by Ajit Singh, chairman of the Forum who while speaking on the occasion demanded medical allowance at par with that given to Central government employees which is Rs. 1000 while those in J&K get Rs. 300 only.
Another demand raised by the protesters was that 10 per cent reservation should be given to the children of police personnel in admissions at professional colleges and in recruitments.
Addressing protesters Ajit Singh said that employees who retired from the last six months have not received their emoluments yet.
He requested to the concerned authorities to release these funds so that the retirees are able to meet their expenses for higher education of their children, marriage expenses etc.
