JAMMU, Jan 27: The Union Government has accepted the request of Ramban area for repair and rehabilitation of Bailey Bridge over river Chenab through NHAI which was a long pending demand of the locals of the area.
In a tweeter message Union MoS, Dr. Jitendra Singh, who also Lok Sabha member from Doda-Kathua Parliamentary Constituency thanked the Union government for the development.
“As MP representing the constituency, I thank PM Sh @narendramodi and MoRTH Minister Sh @nitin_gadkari for accepting our request for repair & rehabilitation of Bailey bridge over river #Chenab in district #Ramban through NHAI,” Dr. Singh tweeted adding: “This was a long pending demand of the locals. #JK.”
It is pertinent to mention here that in a communication Project Director, Purshotam Kumar, PIU Ramban had informed H. Murthy, SE (Civil), Commander, 35 BRTF that NHAI has approved the proposal for de-launching of existing BSB and launching of 240 ft CL-40R Bailey Suspension Bridge with chord reinforcement of wooden decking and protection works over Chenab River at km 149.400 on Ramban old alignment road amounting to Rs. 493.11 lakh.
