NHC urges Govt to provide protective equipments to workers

JAMMU, Mar 25: In view of the outbreak of Coronavirus, National Human Rights, Social Justice Council has urged the Government to provide basic protective equipments to those officially engaged in combating the deadly virus.
In an appeal to Lt Governor G C Murmu, the NHR Chief Executive Director, M I Zargar has urged the Government to ensure and provide basic protective equipments and masks to Medical Workers, Police Forces , Municipality workers and NGO volunteers who are combating this deadly corona virus.
“It is duty of the Government to ensure the safety of the doctors, nurses and community health workers who are bearing a disproportionate burden of this epidemic, due to their constant contact with the virus, which is more contagious than the flu,” he said.
Zargar appreciated the efforts to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus by public health community, Military, Police Forces, NGO volunteers, NCC cadets and Home Guards. He appealed both Jammu Municipality Corporation and Srinagar Municipality Corporation to distribute the free masks, uniforms, sanitizors and all essentials to their Safaie Karamchari and among volunteers.
He also requested Prime Minister Narendar Modi to facilitate conduct of corona virus tests across the India including private laboratories at free of cost.
