NHM doctors, paramedical staff without salaries for last 4 months

RAMBAN, July 14: The doctors and paramedical staff working in various hospitals of the district under NHM are without salaries for last four months.
The doctors alleged that despite several reminders to higher authorities of Health Department, their salaries as well as the long pending incentives were not released till now.
They alleged that they have not been paid incentives for the month of January, February, and March 2013 and their incentives from October 2014 onwards are still pending.
The doctors alleged that in response to an RTI application filed by a doctor of the district in the month of March 2015 regarding pending incentives of 2013, the CMO Ramban had replied that the incentives to doctors has not been paid due to non availability of funds for incentives in 2013, whereas Mission Director, NHM, J&K, has mentioned in his communication No:- SHS/NHM/J&K/3287-91 dated July 10, 2015 that Rs 365.04 lacs have been released for disbursement of honorarium/incentives to doctors of District Ramban for financial year 2012-13.
They accused the district health society for diverting funds meant for honorarium/incentives to other heads of NHM and appealed NHM Director for J&K to look into their grievances and solve them.
