NHM employees demand salary hike, job policy

Srinagar, Dec 17: The National Health Mission (NHM) employees today demanded immediate salary revision along with the job security for all the employees working under the mission.
J&K NHM Employees Association said that the NHM, RNTCP, JKSACS employees are working tirelessly since the inception of the NHM RNTCP JKSACS in J&K and are working in different capacities including that of doctors, paramedics and managerial staff.
The Association’s Chief Spokesperson, Abdul Rauf said that the JKNHMEA has put all the demands before the government so many times for early redressal and has also hit roads so many times to press for their demands including job security and pay hike.
“The then Government constituted a committee of three top brass officers of Principal Secretary rank to discuss the road map for regularisation of NHM Employees as sub-committee of three directors and additional Secretary rank officer already forwarded a roadmap before the government for approval,” he said.
He, however, said that till date, no meeting was conducted to discuss the burning issue of regularisation of NHM.
The JKNHMEA has appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha to look into the matter so that justice is served to near about 8000 employees working under NHM RNTCP JKSACS.
President, JKNHMEA Muneer Andrabi said that the Government of Odisha has already taken an initiative of regularising NHM staff. He has appealed to LG that the same process should be started in J&K without any delay.
