DODA, Oct 8: To mitigate and highlight its various long pending demands and in order to unite all employees on one platform, a district level convention cum meeting of National Health Mission employees of district Doda was held today, here at Town Hall.
The convention was organized under the banner of All J&K NHM Employees Association, which was attended by a large gathering of 200 employees viz Medical Officers, Paramedics and Management Staff from different medical blocks including staff from GMC Doda and ANMT School Doda.
In his welcome speech, Faizan A Tramboo (former district president) presented the agenda points with regard to organizing of the convention and the activities done by the union in the past.
During the convention, several issues including policy for regularization, transfer policy for those living outside the district, implementation of equal pay equal work, enhancement of salary including outsourced DEOs and in time salaries of NHM employees were highlighted by the speakers.
The speakers said that the employees working under different NHM schemes are doing commendable job in the overall delivery system across J&K especially in the remotest and in accessible areas since decades but it is most heartbreaking that yet no mechanism is in place to regularize their services.
The speakers who put forth their views in the convention included Dr Hamid Parray, Dr Manjeet Singh, Dr Sadeeq Wani, Dr Farhat Abass, Dr Shazia Shakeel, Arshad Zaffar (BAM) and Dr Younis Saleem (president, CHOs Association).
Meanwhile, at the end of the convention, a district level body was also constituted with Dr Nasir Masood as new district president, Dr Younis Saleem as vice president, Dr Manjeet Singh as general secretary, Dr Shazia Shakeel as spokesperson, Mohd Rafiq as cashier and Arshad Zaffar as coordinator whereas Dr Hamid Parray, Dr Farhat Abass, Jahangir Mehta, Faizan Elahi, Dr Sadeeq Wani, Umar Anayat, Nargis Jahan, Dr Faheem Wani, Pinku Sharma and Dr Vijay Kumar (CHO) were nominated as members of district advisory committee.
