Srinagar, Apr 24: The employees working under National Health Mission today demanded the release of pending wages ahead of Eid while warning of agitation in case authorities fail to do so.
Abdul Rauf chief spokesperson of JKNHMEA said they have suffered immensely due to the non-release of wages for March.
“During the holy month of Ramazan, the employees were left without a penny in their pockets as wages were not released. Now the Eid is approaching and we are mentally stressed”, he said while urging the authorities to release wages before Eid.
He said the employees will be left with no option but to hit the streets if wages are not released by the 30th of this month for March and April.
The Association President Muneer Andrabi appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to direct the concerned to release funds meant for wages.
“The employees under NHM serve in the most difficult situations and terrains drawing meagre wages which in itself is a cause of stress. Now the non-release of salary is making things difficult”, he further adding in the situation of desperation employees can take any extreme step.
