JAMMU, June 16: National Health Mission Employees Association (NHMEA) today held a protest here in the premises of Directorate of Health services, Jammu, in support of their demands.
The protest was held under the presidium of Sushil Sudan, president, Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) while Rohit Seth, president, All National Health Mission Employees Association and Vinod Kumar Sharma, secretary general, JKMEF, were also present.
A large number of National Health Mission employees’ drawn from various districts and blocks of Jammu division participated in the protest and raised slogans against the Government for ignoring their just and genuine demands.
The demands highlighted by the protesting employees include framing a suitable policy for regularization of all employees working under National Health Mission on the pattern of Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers, provision of maternity leave to female employees and medical leave to all categories, hike in salary in view of high inflation and timely release of salary.
The leaders alleged that all these demands have already been brought into the notice of higher authorities time and again but no concrete outcome has been attained yet. Therefore, it is impressed upon authorities to take remedy measures for fulfillment of above mentioned demands.
Among others who addressed the protesting employees include Dr Sumit Paul, Dr Rakesh, Manjeet Singh, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Jasmail Singh, Neelam Jamwal, Surinder Khajuria and Vijay Kumar.
