NHM employees without wages

SRINAGAR, Mar 16: Employees working under the J&K National Health Mission (NHM) today raised serious concerns over the non-payment of their salaries for the past two and a half months.
Muneer Andrabi, president of the NHM Employees Association (NHMEA), expressed frustration over the salary delays, highlighting the severe mental and emotional toll on the employees.
“Despite working tirelessly and dedicating ourselves to our duties, we have not been paid for over two and a half months. This delay is not only affecting our livelihoods but also causing immense stress, as many of us are unable to fulfill basic needs,” he said.
The aggrieved employees said they are still awaiting their pending salaries as the holy occasions of Shab-i-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr approaching, adding that the prolonged delay has caused considerable distress.
“We are grappling with significant financial hardships,” the employees said.
Andrabi further emphasized that, out of desperation, employees may be compelled to take to the streets to make their voices heard by the authorities.
The NHMEA stated that while the Government of India has released funds for salary payments, NHM employees in Jammu and Kashmir have yet to receive their dues.
President NHMEA urged the J&K administration, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and the Health and Medical Education Minister to address the employees’ grievances without further delay.
In his appeal, Andrabi called on the authorities to take swift action to ensure that employees receive their overdue wages.
