NHPC celebrates ‘Global Hydropower Day’

JAMMU, Oct 11: NHPC, India’s premier hydropower company celebrated ‘Global Hydropower Day’, here today.
The celebrations began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by R.K. Chaudhary, CMD, NHPC in presence of Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects & Technical), NHPC and Santosh Kumar, CVO, NHPC.
Speaking on the occasion, R.K. Chaudhary extended his best wishes to all NHPC employees and emphasized upon the vital role of hydropower and it crucial importance for global sustainability.
He also highlighted upon the tremendous potential of hydropower and pumped storage schemes which have largely been untapped in the country and asked all NHPC employees to work hard for the development of NHPC and hydropower in the country.
Uttam Lal said that hydropower has a crucial role in the energy security of the world and appealed to all NHPC employees to commit themselves to NHPC.
On the occasion, a special quiz competition for all its employees was also organized, in which Bharti Gupta, GM (Civil), Rajesh Kumar Tripathy, GSM (Mechanical) and Sandeep Tanwar, DM (Geo-Tech) secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
