JAMMU, Nov 14: NHPC Regional Office, Jammu here today organized a painting competition on ‘Energy Conservation’ to promote the message of energy conservation awareness at School, State/UT and National level among children.
The participating students from across India were divided in two groups: Group A with students from Class V-VII and Group B with students from Class VIII-X.
The competition commenced with short-listing paintings at school level and finally selecting paintings sent by the schools.
The event was conducted at premises of NHPC Regional Office, Jammu at Narwal where 100 (50 from Group A and 50 from Group B) students from different schools of J&K participated and 26 participants won prizes today.
First, second, third and 10 consolation prizes were given to the students of each group.
In Group A, first prize was won by Saanvi Sharma of Class 6, Heritage School; second by Aayat Banday of Class 7, KC Public School and third by Surobhi Saha of Class 7, APS Ratnuchak.
In Group B, first prize was won by Raghav Toor of Class-9, J&K Police Public School; second by Simran Kumari, Class 10, Mahavir International School and third by Sachika Gupta, Class 10, DPS, Residency Road School.
The evaluation was done by a five-member jury consisting of eminent personalities in the field of art and culture.
Participation Certificates and Certificates of Merit along with prize money were given to the winning participants.
On this occasion, Executive Director, NHPC RO, Jammu, Deepak Saigal, said that children can be the most efficacious brand ambassadors for spreading the message on energy conservation and these painting competitions shall go a long way in this mission.
S.K Jena, General Manager (Finance) and Sanaka Luha, General Manager (Civil) presented the certificates and prize money to participants.
On this occasion Rajnish Kumar Gunjan, DGM (Finance), Mukesh Gupta, GSM (Law), senior officers and staff of NHPC Ltd along with teachers and parents from various schools were also present.
