JAMMU, Aug 24: NHPC Renewable Energy Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of NHPC Limited) has signed MoU with Government of Rajasthan for “Development of 10,000 MW Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park in the State of Rajasthan.”
The MoU was signed by Bhaskar A. Sawant, Principal Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Rajasthan and Biswajit Basu, Chairman, NHPC REL at New Delhi in presence of chief guest, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot.
Shakuntla Rawat, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Government of Rajasthan and Rajiv Arora, Chairman, The Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation Limited, Government of Rajasthan graced the occasion as guests of honour. Usha Sharma, Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan, Veenu Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Government of Rajasthan and Om Kasera, Commissioner, Bureau of Investment Promotion, Government of Rajasthan were also present on the occasion.
The recently formed wholly owned subsidiary of NHPC Limited, NHPC REL is expanding its Renewable Energy portfolio. With signing of this MOU, NHPC REL shall start a new beginning with the support of Government of Rajasthan to develop 10,000 MW Renewable energy Parks/Projects in the State of Rajasthan by optimum utilization of resources and knowledge base of both Parties.
