REASI, May 4: Salal Power Station of NHPC Limited provided 40 KVA DG set to ITI, Reasi and solar lights to 98 beneficiaries putting up in un-electrified villages of District Reasi under CSR. The DG set was installed and dedicated to the Industrial Training Institute by A.G.Ansari, General Manager, Salal Power Station in the presence of M.G.Ghai, Chief Engineer (Civil), Hemla Agarwal, Principal, Degree College Reasi, Ajay Kumar, Principal, Industrial Training Institute Reasi and other senior officers of NHPC Limited whereas the solar lights were distributed among 98 beneficiaries of un-electrified villages of district Reasi including Aas, Symbal Nari, Khidab, ST Basti Maari-A and Fagore Nallah in a similar function organised at Community Hall, Jyotipuram which was inaugurated by Ravinder Kumar, District Development Commissioner, Reasi in association with A.G.Ansari, General Manager, Salal Power Station.
Speaking on the occasion at ITI, Reasi, Ansari said that installation of DG Set at Reasi shall facilitate the students to pursue their studies in a better way as there are a number of practical activities being taken up by the students with power run machines in workshops and computer Labs. Availability of power back up in the Institute shall go a long way in smooth learning process. He advised the students to work hard with dedication as competition for placement is very tough.
Speaking during the function organized for distribution of solar lights, Ansari said that the pain and torture of living in dark at a time when one can not think of life without power is immense. He further said that all the initiatives being taken are need based as assessed in association with district administration.
More solar lights shall be provided shortly in the un-electrified villages of district Reasi.
Ravinder Kumar, District Development Commissioner, Reasi appreciated the continued initiatives taken by Salal Power Station from time to time in all the sectors like education, health, peripheral development sports, skill development and above all ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.’ He also advised the beneficiaries to make a judicious use of the solar lights. Kuldeep Dubey, senior BJP leader and other Panches / Sarpanches appreciated Salal Power Station for initiative.
