NIA announces Rs 10 lakh each cash reward for info on 4 TRF militants

SRINAGAR, Mar 31: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh each on four wanted militant commanders of The Resistance Front (TRF), a front organisation of the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), operating in Kashmir.
Among them, two are Pakistani nationals and all the four are wanted by the NIA in connection with a case registered last year in connection with a conspiracy hatched for radicalising, motivating and recruiting youths of Jammu and Kashmir to effect violent activities in the Union Territory and rest of India.
The case was registered under various sections of Indian Penal Code and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The cash reward was declared against Pakistani nationals including Saleem Rehmani alias Abu Saad of Nawab Shah, Sindh and Saifullah Sajid Jatt of Shangamanga in Kasur and their local associates Sajjad Gul of Srinagar and Basit Ahmad Dar of Redwani Payeen in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The NIA said that the identity of the informer leading to the arrest of the four wanted shall be kept secret.
A senior police officer said that of them, Basit Ahmad Dar is in Kashmir while others are operating from Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Basit is also wanted by Police and through posters circulated in January this year they kept a bounty of Rs 12.5 lakh for information leading to his arrest. He joined militancy last year and is involved in several attacks.
In October last year, the NIA sleuths raided the house of Dr Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh of Rose Avenue Zainakote in Srinagar who is father of TRF commander Sajjad Gul.
The NIA also conducted searches at multiple locations in Kashmir in case of radicalising, motivating and recruiting youth of J&K by LeT (RC-32/2021/NIA/DLI) on February 16 this year. The NIA during the searches seized incriminating materials and digital devices. So far, four persons have been arrested in this case.
