NEW DELHI: Government has cleared a proposal to re-employ senior IPS officer Sharad Kumar as Chief of National Investigating Agency (NIA) for a period of one year after he retires tomorrow.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal for re-appointment of Kumar on the post of DG, NIA on “re-employment on contract basis” for a period of one year beyond the date of superannuation, an official statement said.
Kumar, an IPS officer of 1979 batch of Haryana cadre, was appointed as Chief of NIA on July 30, 2013. (AGENCIES)
