An official statement issued by the NIA said the agency conducted searches at 14 different locations in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi.
“Searches were related to a case of terror activities of chiefs/members of proscribed terrorist organizations such as Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) etc,” the NIA statement said.
It said activities of such outfits and their members include smuggling of terrorist hardware such as arms, ammunition, explosives and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) etc from across the International Borders for use by the terror operatives and organized criminal gangs operating in various parts of the country.

The case was registered by the NIA at Delhi as some of these outfits and their members were also active in the Union capital besides Punjab and Jammu.
During the searches conducted today, incriminating materials including digital devices and documents have been recovered by the raiding teams which will be examined to ascertain links of the terror operative in Pakistan and the terror acts they were planning to carry out in the country.
Further investigations in the case are in progress.
As per the sources, the KLF, BKI and ISYF have become active in Punjab, Jammu and New Delhi for carrying out terror acts on the directions of their handlers based in Pakistan who were instrumental in smuggling of weaponry to Jammu and Punjab from the International Border using drones.
“Most of such consignments have been recovered by the Border Security Force (BSF) and police in Jammu as well as in Punjab. However, the possibility of some consignments having reached in the hands of terror operatives is not ruled out,” the sources said, adding various agencies were engaged in ensuring that the militants don’t manage to carry out terror acts and today’s raids by the NIA were also aimed at this.
During past few days, several drones have been shot down by the BSF which were carrying arms, ammunition, explosives and narcotics in Punjab. Yesterday, a large drone was sent from Pakistan equipped with weaponry and narcotics but it too was brought down by the BSF.
Yesterday’s NIA raids said were conducted at 14 locations in Jammu and Kashmir including Jammu, Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag and Sopore.
Raids were conducted in the case pertaining to criminal conspiracy for carrying out terrorist and subversive activities hatched by the cadres and Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of various proscribed organizations and their affiliates/off-shoot, operating under various pseudo names, at the behest of their Pakistani commanders/ handlers.
