Locations of the OGWs were searched in Reasi, Udhampur, Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar districts of the Jammu region.
Among the locations raided by the NIA teams include the houses of Ghulam Hassan Kachu at Hill Baba in Khari area of Ramban district, Naseer Ahmad Baig at Puneja, Bhaderwah in Doda district, Mohammad Rafiq in Basantgarh area of Udhampur, 3 houses at Nagseni in Kishtwar and Mohammad Iqbal at Khour in Mahore area of Reasi district.
Rest of the locations searched by the NIA teams also belonged to the OGWs.
There have been reports that some OGWs had been assisting the Pakistani terrorists in infiltration from LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts and International Border in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts. The OGWs were also helping the terrorists reach hideouts in mountainous areas after their infiltration.
Officials were of the view that cracking entire network of the OGWs is must to ensure that the terrorists don’t find hideouts in the region.
“The searches led to the seizure of various materials showing linkages between terrorists of banned outfits with OGWs and hybrid terrorists whose premises were searched. Premises of sympathizers and cadres of these organisations were also searched as part of the crackdown,” an NIA statement said.
The suspected hybrid terrorists and OGWs of today’s searches were linked with the newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of the banned terrorist outfits.
The NIA had registered the case RC-04/2024/NIA/JMU on directions from Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India, on 24th October, based on information regarding the infiltration of active terrorists belonging to LeT and JeM into Indian territory through the international Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC). These infiltrations were facilitated by OGWs and other terror associates, based in villages in Jammu region, who were engaged in providing the logistical support, food, shelter, money to the terrorists,” the statement said.
Further investigations are on in the case, it added.
