JAMMU, Aug 26: BJP spokesperson, Brig Veteran Anil Gupta today said that Congress party has once again been exposed for exonerating Pakistan on Pulwama terrorist attack of last year after
National Investigating Agency (NIA) filed yesterday a 13,800 pages charge sheet against 19 accused persons in its Special Court at Jammu in connection with the terrorist attack on CRPF convoy on February 14 last year at Laithpura, Pulwama with an IED laden vehicle.
In a hard hitting statement targeting Congress Brig Gupta said the NIA has mentioned Masood Azhar, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief as the main accused and given detailed account of planning and execution of the deadly attack including the logistics involved in moving the explosives used in the attack. The NIA charge sheet unambiguously accused Pakistan of its involvement in the terrorist attack executed by a local terrorist Adil Dar resulting in the martyrdom of 40 CRPF personnel and grievous injuries to eight others Brig Gupta, said.
Brig Gupta who is also a security analyst said the list of accused includes seven Pakistani nationals and 12 are Kashmiri terrorists. The charge sheet states, “The investigation has revealed that Pulwama attack was a result of well-planned criminal conspiracy hatched by Pakistan-based leadership of terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad. The JeM leaders have been sending their cadres to the terrorist training camps of Al Qaeda-Taliban-JeM and Haqqani- JeM in Afghanistan for receiving training in explosives and other terrorist tactics.” It leaves no doubt of Pakistan’s involvement but the opposition leaders led by Rahul Gandhi had spared no effort to give a clean chit to Pakistan in an ugly attempt to politicise the entire issue, rued Brig Gupta.
Among many issues the opposition had raised questions about the timing of the attack, source of such large quantity of explosive hinting that it may be an insider’s job. The opposition became even more vocal after the arrest of JKP Dy SP Davinder Singh and went to the extent of accusing the security forces and once again giving a clean chit to Pakistan, he said.
