DODA, Aug 29: MLA Bhaderwah, Mohd Sharief Niaz conducted extensive tour of several villages and took stock of the situation and inspected on going development works.
Mr Niaz accompanied by some party leaders paid visit to Basti, Sartingal, Thanala, Bheja, Sungli, Bhalla, Seri, Chakra Batti, Drudu, Chinta and Pranoo and inspected many development works. Besides Executive Engineer R&B and other officers of the Sub-Division, the MLA also addressed some public meetings during his tour.
He asked the R&B officials to construct several view points on Bhaderwah-Chamba road near Bheja, Thanala, Puneja, Dandi and Sartingal. He expressed dissatisfaction over the work being initiated by GREF 115 RCC on Bhaderwah -Bani road and said that road was in worst condition. He urged the State Government to snatch the road project from GREF and take over it for R&B agency. He alleged that in last 30 years, the GREF has failed to complete the assigned work on this road. The MLA also visited Basti village where several houses were damaged due to breach in PDC canal leading to Hyro-electric project Sartingal. He said that an FIR be registered against the agency. He also sought suitable compensation for the villagers who suffered damage.
The MLA also met several deputations and listened to their problems. The people demanded that SDH Bhaderwah should not be shifted to Dandi village and if it is done, some staff should be kept there for keeping the old one functional.
